Kadriorg Palace and garden in Tallinn (Estonia) online puzzle
Kadriorg is the name of the Baroque palace complex in Tallinn, meaning Catherine’s Valley. The palace is named after the second wife of Peter the Great, Tsar of Russia, who commissioned its construction in honor of the wife. Kadriorg covers an area of approximately 70 hectares. Its construction began in 1718 in accordance with the design by Nicolo Michettiego, who was inspired by the Italian palaces of that time. Originally, the building served as the summer residence of the tsar and his wife, now it houses the office of the President of Estonia. Despite the fact that the palace is the official residence of the head of state, its gardens and some chambers are available to the public and are very popular.
