Fougères Castle (France) online puzzle
Fougères lies in Brittany, in the north-west of France. The town is primarily known for a well-preserved medieval castle. The 12th-century fortress is situated on a granite rock and it replaced the original wooden fort that was destroyed after it had been besieged by the army of King Henry II of England. Then it was gradually expanded and now is one of the largest strongholds in Brittany. The skyline of the town is dominated by thirteen mighty towers and walls that are three meters thick. The castle is frequently visited by tourists.
