Monastery of Dervishes in Blagaj (Bosnia and Herzegovina) online puzzle
Blagaj is a town located in the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Dervish monastery, i.e. dancing Muslim monks, is the most famous monument that was built during the domination of the Turks. It is a complex of small buildings, as if huddling to rocks. It was erected in 1520 during the reign of Suleiman the Great. It was built in the Ottoman style with visible influence of the Mediterranean architecture. The monastery stands at the foot of the 200-meter-high rock, from which azure stream flows, the source of the river Buna. The complex can be visited, but keep in mind that this is a place of worship and it must be respected.
