Fort tower in Počitelj (Bosnia and Herzegovina) online puzzle
Počitelj is a town located in the south-western part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The town is one of the best preserved urban complexes from the period of the Turkish rule in the region. The stone buildings of the town are dominated by the fortress built in the 15th century on the ruins of a Roman fortress by the king of Hungary Matthias Corvinus. The fort failed to resist the power of the Turkish sultan, who after seizing Počitelj added a high fortified tower here, the so called Kula-Gavran Kapetanovic. It is now the best-preserved part of the town fortifications and the highest vantage point in the area. Tourists may admire there is a wonderful view of the town, surrounding hills and the valley of the Neretva River.
