Hohenzollern Castle (Germany) online puzzle
Baden-Württemberg is a state located in the southern part of Germany. The Hohenzollern Castle – the residence of the Swabian branch of the House of Hohenzollern – is located on top of the hill close to the town of Hechingen. Most probably the first residential fortification was built here as early as at the beginning of the 11th century, however, in the 15th century it was destroyed and replaced by a new fortress, which fell into ruin with the passing of time. The current castle is the work of the famous Berlin Architect Friedrich August Stüler and was designed in the 19th century. The building was supposed to materialize the romantic picture of the medieval castle, which dominates majestically over the neighborhood, with a drawbridge, defensive walls, flanking towers and many pointed pinnacles seen from afar.
