Freiburg im Breisgau is a city located in the south-west part of Germany, in Baden-Wurttemberg. Freiburg is a very old city and it was granted the city rights at the beginning of the 12th century. Schwabentor, i.e. the city gate tower that used to be the part of the city walls, is considered to be one of the best known city’s historic buildings. Its white form is crowned with a pyramidal roof and a bell turret. The tower dominates over the neighboring tenement houses. Inside the tower there is a small museum of tin figures that depict various scenes from the history of Germany.
