Wailing Wall in Jerusalem (Israel) online puzzle
Jerusalem is the capital and the biggest city of Israel as well as an important religious center for the Jews, Muslims and Christians. The Jewish district that is most frequently visited by tourists and pilgrims from all over the world is situated in the Old City of Jerusalem. The famous Wailing Wall (or Western Wall), i.e. parts of the remnants of the ancient wall that surrounded the Jewish Temple's courtyard, is located in the district. The Wailing Wall is not only a historically significant tourist attraction, but above all it is the most sacred place for the Jews, where they wail symbolically the destruction of the Second Temple, which was built in the 6th century B.C. There are separate areas for women and men to pray. Worshipers put the pieces of paper with their prayers into the gaps in the wall. The Dome of the Rock, the Muslim sanctuary located on the Temple Mount, towers above the Wailing Wall.
