Rhodesian puppies online puzzle
Rhodesian is a common name of the dog’s breed called Rhodesian Ridgeback. It is one of the oldest dog’s breeds known to people as its origins date back to the 5th century, when groups of African hunters from the north of the continent decided to set off southward. The warriors were accompanied by large dogs with reddish fur. There is a characteristic ridge on its back as the fur is arranged in the opposite direction in relation to the rest. The name of the breed derives from Rhodesia, historic region in the south-east of Africa, where the Europeans came across the Hottentots, who used dogs of that breed. The second part of the breed’s name originated from the characteristic fur streak on the back, which is commonly referred to as a “ridge”. The Rhodesian dogs are very strong and fast and they were used for hunting predators in the past. For that reason the other name of that breed is the African Lion Dog.
