Republic of San Marino (enclave in Italy) is one of the smallest countries of Europe, next to Vatican City and Monaco. The town of the same name is the capital of San Marino. It is located in the centre of the country, on the hills of Monte Titano, which is the highest peak of the Republic of San Marino (756 meters above sea level). The historic centre of the oldest world’s republic (the origin of the state dates back to the year 301) has become the part of the UNESCO World Heritage List.
