Phoenix is a major American city, the center of the metropolis known as the "Valley of the Sun" and the capital of the state of Arizona. In 2008 the city launched light rail transport – Metro Light Rail. The 32-kilometer line connects Phoenix to the nearby cities of Mesa and Tempe. It takes an hour and ten minutes to cover the whole distance, but there are plans to systematically extend the original line. Thousands of passengers travel every day on board of characteristic electric silver and turquoise cars. The fleet consists of 50 trains.
