Lake Tegernsee is located in Upper Bavaria, fifty kilometers south of Munich. The surroundings of this body of water situated at the foot of the Alps are frequently visited by tourists from all over Germany. Winter and water sports enthusiasts are the most frequent visitors. Cruise ships, sailboats and small boats sail on clear waters of the lake, there is also a well-equipped marina nearby. The lake covers the area of almost nine square kilometers and it is dominated by 1,772-meter Wallberg peak.
