According to scientists, the pectoral was made by Greek masters-torevts by order of the Scythian nobility in the second quarter of the IV century BC. e. in the jewelry workshops of Athens or Panticapaea. The pectoral was discovered at 2:30 p.m. on June 21, 1971, during archaeological research of the central burial in the mound of the Scythian period of the Thick Tomb near the city of Pokrov, Dnipropetrovsk region [1]. The head of the expedition is Borys Mozolevskyi, the deputy head is Yevhen Chernenko. Archaeologists discovered numerous gold ornaments in two burial tombs, including a pectoral. She, together with an iron sword in a scabbard decorated with gold plate, a whip and a gorite [2], was found in a short corridor connecting the burial chamber with the entrance pit.
