It is generally believed that pasta is fattening and unhealthy, however, it is not a justified assessment. It is a source of complex carbohydrates that are digested by a human body for a long time. Therefore, after eating a plate of spaghetti we feel satiated longer and our body burns more energy in the process of digesting a meal. In addition, pasta is not caloric at all but is often served with quite heavy ingredients, for example meat or fatty cheeses.
