Pizza is a traditional dish of Italian cuisine that has been known for centuries on the Apennine Peninsula. The first written record of the word "pizza" appears in sources as early as in the 10th century, however, it is certain that this wheat delicacy with spices and toppings were known much earlier. The Italian emigrants, who brought the tradition of baking pizza to the United States, popularized the dish and now it is known almost all over the world.
