Hard candies are usually small with fruit-flavored sweets. They are cheap and have a relatively simple composition, the basis of which is sugar or glucose-fructose syrup, coloring agent and aroma. Sometimes hard candies are additionally coated with sweet powder thanks to which they do not stick in the package. Hard candies, i.e. candies intended for sucking, badly affect teeth because they are held in mouth for a long time, leading to the development of bacteria and consequent caries. What is more, biting hard candies can put you in danger of breaking a tooth or injuring your gums.
