Traditional chłodnik online puzzle
Chłodnik is a light soup usually prepared in summer, as it is served cold. In the Lithuanian and Polish cuisines leafy tops of beetroot (less often sorrel), cucumber, sour cream, yoghurt, curd or buttermilk are the basis of chłodnik. The dish is also served with seasonal ingredients such as fresh dill, parsley and small beetroots with leafy tops. In order to make soup more nutritious it is most often served with eggs and sometimes potatoes. In the Old Polish recipes we may find a forgotten ingredient – crayfish tails. This cold but nutritious soup, which is ideal during hot days, occurs in a number of varieties: in the Bulgarian cuisine the so called tara tor is served, whereas is Spain it is gazpacho.
