Helsinki is the capital of Finland. The city lies in the southern part of the country, on the Gulf of Finland. It was founded by king Gustav I of Sweden in 1550. The administrative borders of Helsinki include both areas located on the mainland and nearby islands. The city is surrounded from three sides by the sea. The most expensive and most elegant properties in Helsinki are located just by the water, for example in Eläintarhanlahti Bay, Säästöpankinranta and Siltasaarenkärki streets, where a characteristic apartment complex is located. From the corner buildings there is a nice view of the nearby marina.
